1. Introduction

  • These Terms & Conditions govern the use of Just Ask Matt's services. By making an enquiry or using our service, you agree to these terms. Just Ask Matt reserves the right to update or modify these terms at any time.

2. Services Provided

  • Just Ask Matt acts as a local concierge service to arrange and manage services on your behalf. This includes, but is not limited to, sourcing local tradespeople and coordinating services that align with your individual needs and budget.
  • Customers may reuse the same service provider(s) directly without having to go through Just Ask Matt again, unless they require assistance with a new service. Just Ask Matt’s goal is to keep customers connected with local providers for life.

3. Deposit & Payment

  • A £15 deposit is required to initiate any search or service request.
  • This deposit helps ensure enquiries are genuine and covers initial admin and research time.
  • If we are unable to find a pro for your request, the deposit will be fully refunded.
  • If a pro is found and the client declines to proceed, the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Additional charges (if any) will be clearly communicated before proceeding with a service.
  • Any and all applicable fees will be included in the total amount quoted. This includes the full cost of the service, provider charges, materials, labour, and any other relevant costs
  • A minimum of 25% of the quoted amount is required upon commencement of any work. Funds will then be collected in quarterly instalments as work progresses. This ensures funds are available for release at the appropriate stages, keeping the project running smoothly.
  • Any extra work added after the original agreement will be re-quoted and must be approved before proceeding.

 

4. Provider Selection

  • Just Ask Matt will connect you with service pros based on your individual needs and budget.
  • While we make every effort to ensure suitability, the final agreement is between you and the service provider.
  • We do not take commission from service providers and remain impartial in all recommendations.

5. Responsibility & Liability

  • Just Ask Matt acts as an intermediary only and is not responsible for the performance, conduct, or outcome of any third-party services.
  • Any disputes, damages, or issues arising from services provided must be resolved between the client and the provider directly.
  • All service providers engaged through Just Ask Matt confirm they are fully insured upon signing Just Ask Matt’s Terms & Conditions.
  • By doing so, they accept full liability for any accidents, damages, or issues that may arise in the course of providing their service.

6. Responsibility, Payment & Disputes

  • Any payments managed by Just Ask Matt—such as those arranged in instalments—will be held and released through Just Ask Matt as work is completed, based on agreed milestones between the client and the service provider.
  • In these cases, Just Ask Matt will help manage expectations and act as a mediator to help resolve disputes if they arise.
  • For services where payment is made directly between the client and provider, Just Ask Matt is not responsible for financial disputes or outcomes.
  • While we strive to recommend only suitable providers, ultimate responsibility for the quality and delivery of the service rests with the provider.
  • Once work has been completed, confirmed by the client, and final payments have been made, any communication in regards to works carried out must be taken up directly with the provider who carried out the service. Just Ask Matt is not involved in resolutions after this.
  • If you are not satisfied with the standard of work carried out, we will retain remaining funds and arrange for an independent second opinion, based on the original quotation and agreed scope of work.
  • If the work is deemed to have been completed to the expected standard, you will be charged a call-out fee for the inspection, and remaining funds will be released to the provider.
  • If the work is deemed not to meet the required standard, we will aim to have the issue rectified by the original provider, and the call-out fee will be deducted from their final payment.
  • Any personal data shared with Just Ask Matt will be handled with care and not shared with third parties outside the scope of fulfilling your service request.
  • If the original provider refuses or is unable to complete the remaining work, Just Ask Matt will arrange for another suitable provider to complete the service.

7. Local Focus

  • Just Ask Matt aims to work with independent, local businesses to support community economies and reduce environmental impact where possible.
